We are always interested in good musicians to join our
ensemble for more variety. At this time we are particularly
looking for "chimers" or Handchime players. We use a little
more than 2 octaves of beautiful Malmark Handchimes and
potentially will be adding more.
These instruments are somewhat unusual. Performers (at this
time) are not found in the Omaha Federation of Musicians. They
are very similar to playing Handbells and are heard in numerous
churches and schools in most areas of the United States and
Canada. If you have handbell experience and can easily play 2, 3
or more handbells, we would be very interested in meeting you.
If you do not have such experience but have a strong musical
background and ensemble experience, we would also be
interested in meeting you. Handchimes are not difficult to learn:
the most important element is the musicianship. We are lining
up performances for 2007 now.
